Cookie Policy

Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small browser-stored values. Session storage and local storage are similar technologies with different lifetimes. This policy covers CorNex browser storage and optional interaction measurement, including events that do not use cookies.
Essential preference storage
Session storage named cornex-privacy-choice remembers the notice version, acknowledgment and analytics choice. It contains no chat text or access code. It is scoped to this site and normally expires when the tab’s browsing session ends; browsers restoring sessions may restore it. This storage honors your choice, not cross-site tracking. Chat access codes, conversation state and a random session identifier stay in memory rather than a saved chat-history cookie.
Administrator session
The protected administration page uses an essential encrypted cookie named cornex-admin after administrator sign-in. It expires after eight hours and is cleared on sign-out. It is not accessible to page scripts and is not used for analytics. The public research assistant still requires no sign-in.
Optional analytics
The current CorNex interface does not need a separate analytics cookie, but optional events are linked to an in-memory session identifier. They stay disabled until you choose Accept optional analytics. Reject optional analytics is equally available. Events may include research questions and answers, timing, browser details, citation clicks, feedback and export activity. See the Privacy Notice.
Hosting and external services
Hosting, security services and embedded development previews may use additional technical storage outside the CorNex chat interface. Their exact cookie inventory and lifetimes have not been verified here. The public assistant does not require sign-in. External sites and Google Fonts have their own data practices. CorNex does not configure advertising cookies or third-party marketing analytics in its chat interface.
Managing choices
Open Privacy choices from the page links to change or withdraw optional analytics acceptance. Rejecting stops future optional events; essential AI processing, access limits and contact submissions continue. Clearing session storage prompts a new acknowledgment and choice, but does not erase server records. Your browser can block or clear storage, although preferences or some hosting functions may not be remembered.
